Obituary of Mary Lou Cortez

We regretfully announce the passing of Mary Lou (Tapia) Cortez, who passed away surrounded by her loved ones on February 4, 2024. Mary (Lucha) had a difficult battle with throat cancer, and is finally at peace.

Mary (Lucha) was predeceased by her parents, Jose and Eva Tapia, her brother Joseph (Bobby Joe), and sisters, Patricia and Elizabeth (Villa). She is survived by her two brothers, Max and Dr. Richard Tapia, her ex-husband Ernest, her children, Crista, Mike, and Andrea, her three grandchildren, Mercedes, Eric, and Arturo–Jose (A-J), along with nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who loved and cherished her as well.

Services to be held February 16th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church

9:00 AM Viewing, 9:30 AM Rosary with 10 AM Mass to follow. Luncheon will be immediately after.
