Life Legacy
Catherine A. (Bastien) Marthaler, Age 82, formerly of Orangevale, California, died Friday, February 5, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was an elementary school teacher for 30 years; she retired in 1990 from Folsom Cordova Unified School District after 25 years. In her work and in her home life she strived to bring out the best in others, even if it was just to get you to smile.
Preceded in death by her husband, of 51 years, David F. Marthaler. Dear mother of Susan, R.M., Therese, Louise; and loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Beloved sister of Dick Bastien, Joan Bastien Rowe (deceased 1992) and Peggy Bastien Kelsch of Minnesota. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
